z3ta for the win! :P

Jammer dat je in meer van je liedjes van de standaard voorgebouwde melodies gebruik maakt die in z3ta zitten :P Voor de rest klinkt het wel lekker hoor ;)

idd,

ik weet wel beter zo langzamerhand :P

Ace! :)

Ok, how to put this in a constructive manner...

First of all, this being your first self-authored, non-covered / remixed hardstyle track, I think you did a very good job.

But... I want to give you some critisism, which I'm sure you won't mind ;)
At first, the 'afterbeat' (the bass-'hump' that follows every kick) sounded a bit off. It was getting to a point where it started getting annoying, until suddenly at 1:10 it popped into right feeling. Before 1:10 it sounded a bit too 'staccato' if you know what I mean. You want more 'legato' (laid-back, more stretched, not-choppy), like how it sounded after 1:10.

The bassline melody was really good, and at 1:10 I got a more 'hardstyle feeling'. At 1:25 you really got it going. Maybe a different lead synth but the overal picture was very pleasing. Around 2:00 you switched back to the intro-style melody. Somehow it sounded to me you wanted to cram two never-finished hardstyle pieces you made together. Somehow they did not mix and match properly, although I must admit your efforts to do so are noticable. If I stop being a dickhead for a few seconds, you did an excellent job.

One other advice I'd like to give you is when you want to make a proper build-up, climax, build-down, use more staccato melodies in the intro and outro (bells-like melodies always do the trick for me), while in the climax you want to use very legato and RAW sounding synths. Maybe halfway into the climax add an upper and a lower octave of the same melody, so that halfway into the climax it gets even more intense and gets a 'fuller body'.

Build up from 0:00 to 0:52 or 1:20 (when you're at 140-145 BPM, depends on how many bars you wanna use for your intro). Try using 2 or 4 bars break before ramming us into your climax :) Like using that piano sample you did before the outro. If you stick that infront of your climax you get a buildup-silence-climax style track :)

Love to hear more from you ;)

Rawrthaas responds:

Of course I don't mind criticism! Yeah, like you know this is really the first time I've done hardstyle (other than that really old and shitty remix of that one song), and I pretty much had to throw away my DnB influence I put on nearly every track. So it was almost a completely new experience. Almost.

Definitely more hardstyle in the future.

Free your mind

This track reminded me of Mario Lopez - Free Your Mind. I tried to YouTube it, but it doesn't seem to have the remix I am talking about. I have it on vinyl for my turntables. It's sad the remix isn't on YouTube because the original and club versions have kind of weak melodies compared to the remix I am talking about ;)

Re-Render plx! :D

Like people stated before, put a really low extra bass under it. I was kinda imagining a subbass while listening to the track. Re-render it with a subbass, mate, you KNOW it would be the bomb :)

As for the track as it is now, really nice job. It has a very good buildup in my opinion. I did not expect any less from you to be honest.

Rawr, it's getting increasingly harder for you to maintain your standards :P When I create something, nobody expects something big. It's a burden you will have to live with being a greater than you were when I first heard your stuff a few years back.

Keep it up mate,
your truly

Headhunterz

I gotta love you for remixing one of my favorite Hardstyle tracks.
See if you can do something with [Noisecontrollers - Aliens] or [Noisecontrollers - Crump] or basicly any other Noisecontrollers track. You can check their tracks on YouTube if you wanna get an idea.

I love you stuff,

Keep in touch

Chilling yet thrilling

Hey Rawr, how're you doin' these days?
Been a long time since I last checked your audio. Last thing I have on my harddrive that is yours is Illuminatus (I think it was called like that). I still play that on mp3 when I sit in the train to my work or college.

Keep up the good stuff

Rawrthaas responds:

whats up dude

I never forgot your reviews =)

I'm doing good by the way, hope to see you around more

Two things

First of all. I really like this tune. I don't think it's too short. I have 2 things to add though. There is a part where you make the melody move up in tone. I think the second "move-up" is a false note.'

Second, I don't know which program you are using, but if you use Fruity Loops, and you want to make this a loop, you should choose Wrap Remainder instead of Leave Remainder in the Render dialog box. I think it ends too abrupt, but it would sound really cool as a loop.

Trance vs. Techno

I liked the part where the synth got a little more raw. First I thought this better belonged to trance. But after listening to the entire song, I think techno fits best. I hear some nice DnB drums in there too. Really nice job! I love your stuff, just keep it coming!

Five/Five

Thanks for your vote, Yytrium! You voted 5 for Dreamerz: Machines Will Fall, raising its score from 4.61 to 4.63.

I think that says enough =)

itsameyayo responds:

It does, glad you liked the song man, thanks much : )

Nice

I like the instruments in vr2 most, but this one has a nice addition of drums. Has a more "complete" feeling. I would down the resonance of the trumpet halfway the track though... it's a bit peaky.

Good job! Can't wait for vr4 :P

brandon2002 responds:

Thank you for enjoying it! V3 was sapposed to sound alot more realistic then the forst 2 but if the v2 won you over that is awsome!
Thank you again
